Once & Found — Meet Sarah Jane
The hands behind the pieces.
Hi, I'm Sarah — ceramic artist, lifelong maker, and the person who gets unreasonably excited about finding a beautiful vintage plate at an estate sale. I earned my degree in ceramics from The Ohio State University, spent years in corporate life, raised three incredible kids, and eventually made my way back to the thing I love most: clay.
My studio is tucked in my wooded backyard in West Chester, Pennsylvania — a little creative sanctuary where I make small-batch pottery in seasonal collections. Everything I create is rooted in the same belief: that functional objects can also be art, and that the things we use every day deserve to be beautiful.
How Once & Found began
Once & Found grew from that same belief — just taken one step further. I've always been drawn to vintage ceramics. The weight of them, the glaze variations, the sense that they've already lived a life. When I started combining my background in ceramics with the art of kiln-fired custom marking, something clicked. These pieces could be personal. They could carry your family's initial, your restaurant's brand, your company's mark — permanently fused into a piece that already has history and soul.
Every piece that leaves my studio comes with a provenance card — a small note about where the vintage piece came from and what makes it special. Because I believe the story of an object is part of its value. Thank you for being here. I hope you find something that feels like it was always meant to be yours.
xo, Sarah
