FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept custom orders?

I wish I could say yes to everything, but Sarah Jane Pottery is a small batch pottery studio! Between creating new collections, stocking my online shop, and preparing for local art shows, I’m typically not able to take on custom or made-to-order pieces. BUT, I’ve learned to never say never.  So, if you have something in mind, send me a note and we’ll talk about it together to see if it’s possible.

If you’ve fallen in love with a piece that’s sold out, feel free to join my email list or follow along on Instagram @SarahJanePottery — restocks and one-of-a-kind releases happen regularly!

Do you offer wholesale?

Yes, I occasionally partner with a small number of local retailers, boutiques and museums. If you’re interested in carrying Sarah Jane Pottery in your shop, please email info@sarahjanepottery.shop for current availability and terms.

Is your pottery microwave and dishwasher safe?

Yes! All of my pieces are made from durable stoneware and glazed with food-safe, non-toxic glazes. They’re safe for everyday use in the microwave, dishwasher, freezer, and oven (yes, really!).
Just remember — handmade pottery deserves gentle handling. Avoid sudden temperature changes (like going straight from fridge to hot oven), and treat your pieces with a little extra love.

Can I pick up my order locally?

You sure can. If you’re in the West Chester, PA area, simply select Local Pickup at checkout and shipping will be removed. I’ll reach out via email within a day or two to coordinate a convenient pickup time at my home studio.

How often do you update your shop?

I aim for new shop updates every month or so, depending on the season and show schedule. Subscribers to my email list and Instagram followers always get first notice when new collections are added — and sneak peeks from the studio!

Shipping & Returns

How are items shipped?

All orders are carefully packaged (lots of eco-friendly paper, cardboard, and biodegradable wrap) and shipped via USPS Priority Mail within 3–5 business days for ready-to-ship pieces.
If an item is made-to-order, please allow 4–6 weeks for production and shipping.

Do you ship internationally?

Currently, I ship within the United States only. I hope to expand international shipping in the future!

Shipping Costs

Pottery is heavy and fragile — it takes a bit of padding to get it to you safely. I do my best to keep costs fair, and I’ll happily combine orders and refund any shipping overages if it’s safe to ship items together.

Returns & Refunds

Each piece is individually handmade — small variations in size, glaze, and shape are part of their charm! For that reason, I don’t accept returns or exchanges.

If your pottery arrives damaged, please email a photo to info@sarahjanepottery.shop within 7 days of delivery. I’ll gladly replace it with a like item or refund damaged pieces whenever possible.

Please note: I’m not responsible for packages marked “delivered” but not received. Once USPS marks a package as delivered, ownership transfers to the buyer.
